50 Cent is unrecognisable as he loses FOUR STONE in nine weeks for new film role

This would appear to be a picture of a homeless man surviving on scraps.

But it's actually multi-millionaire rapper 50 Cent, who has lost a staggering 54lbs (4st) in just nine weeks for a film role.

The hip-hop star went on a liquid-only diet and worked out for three hours a day to achieve the staggering weight loss.

The formerly muscular 34-year-old is taking method acting to levels that Christian Bale would be proud of.
He is due to play a cancer-stricken American football player in a forthcoming film and wanted to look authentic for the part.

In the past 50 Cent has made much of his muscular body, often appearing topless in videos and showing off his huge frame.

He is starring and co-producing Things Fall Apart, which will also feature Ray Liotta and is directed by Mario van Peebles.

Soon after the dramatic weight loss pictures were posted on his website, 50cent.com, rumours swept the internet they were a hoax.

But in a statement the star, real name Curtis Jackson, confirmed the pictures were authentic.

'I was starving,' he said, adding that now he is back on tour, 'I've been eating. I'll be back in shape in no time!'

In the film which is set for release in 2011, 50 Cent plays a football player diagnosed with cancer.

He dropped from 214 pounds to an astonishing 160 pounds with a liquid diet and three-hour-a-day treadmill walks for nine weeks.
The rapper's achievement still does not top that of Christian Bale, who lost 63lbs for his role in the dark mystery film 'The Machinist'.

Bale went from 185lbs to 122lbs to look like he 'had not slept for a year' and did it by cutting out most foods and relentlessly exercising.

In addition, the rapper - real name Curtis Jackson has had the tattoos on his arms removed in preparation for his acting career.

He has said: 'I took ‘em off. I’ve been on a few acting projects and they been making me get up… My call time is four hours before the regular acting talent because of the tattoos.'
Jackson made his film debut in the semi-autobiographical semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' in 2005.

He starred in the Iraq War film Home of the Brave in 2006, and opposite Robert De Niro in 2008 crime thriller Righteous Kill in 2008.

And last year starred in Brit gangster film Dead Man Running.

'Fiddy' is one of the music world's richest performers, with an estimated fortune of $440 million in 2008.

Last year Billboard Magazine named him 6th best artist of the 2000-2009 decade.

50 Cent: 'I Tape All My Calls With Idiots'.

50 Cent: 'I Tape All My Calls With Idiots'.... Rapper 50 Cent has taken steps to prove the authenticity of a taped telephone conversation between himself and former G-Unit bandmate Young Buck - by broadcasting the whole recording on his website.

Earlier this week (16Jun08) the In Da Club hitmaker released a new track - entitled The Taped Conversation - featuring Buck grovelling to the rapper, seemingly begging him to be allowed back in to the hip-hop group after he was kicked out in April (08) following a dispute over song royalties.

Buck - real name David Darnell Brown - has subsequently criticised his former bandmate, insisting the taped conversation was doctored - with Brown's manager Blue Williams branding 50 Cent "an obviously scorned and angry man".

Now, 50 Cent is aiming to disprove Brown's claims the conversation was heavily edited, by making the recording available in its entirety on his site ThisIs50.com.

And the star has further blasted his former music partner, telling New York radio station Hot 97 on Thursday (19Jun08) he always tapes his conversations - especially if the people on the other end of the phone are "idiots".

He says, "A lot of times people don't see what the other person is doing.

They don't understand the cause and effect. They don't see the other person; they just pay attention to me".

When asked if he tapes all his phone conversations, the star replied, "With idiots, yeah! So if they saying something crazy, it's right there".

50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - also said his friendship with Brown is beyond repair, unless the rapper is open to seeking professional help for his alleged impulsive spending and drug habits.

He adds, "He needs to go to a program and get some real help. Then maybe we can talk to each other".

50 Cent Meets Mandela.

Rap star 50 Cent has enjoyed an intimate chat with former South African president Nelson Mandela in his Johannesburg home.

The star, real name Curtis Jackson, is currently touring South Africa and Tanzania with G-Unit, and was lucky enough to be granted a meeting with the revered former politician at his armed security-surrounded home earlier this week (begs28Apr08), reports Mtv News.
Jackson and nine others, including crew from Mtv who are filming the trip, were invited into Mandela's living room, where he was reading the paper. The pair chatted in front of the cameras, before talking in private.

Earlier the same day, Jackson visited the Hector Pieterson Memorial museum in Soweto to meet Mandela's grandson, who gave the star a lesson on Apartheid and its effect on South Africa.

The documentary will be shown through Mtv later this month (May08).

50 Cent Blasts Young Buck's Royalty Allegations.

Latest: 50 Cent has hit out at former G-Unit rapper Young Buck's allegations that he has "never seen a royalty check" from his time with the star's record label - insisting he was generously "overpaid" throughout his time with the hip hop group.

The In Da Club hitmaker axed the rapper - real name David Darnell Brown - after he spoke out about dissent in the G-Unit camp, telling America's Yo! Raps Magazine he has failed to receive any royalties owed to him since signing with 50's G-Unit Records.

The claims were initially blasted by the star's manager Sha Money XL, who states the quotes were false, insisting G-Unit has paid Young Buck $10 million (£5 million) to date.
And 50 - real name Curtis Jackson Iii - also refutes the allegations, stating it was Brown's "drug dealer" lifestyle which left him broke - claiming he had to bail the star out of "tax trouble" on numerous occasions.

He says, "That (the allegations) was a shocker from Young Buck. The last thing that I felt would ever be even said would be that (the members of G-Unit) weren't paid because they actually were overpaid.

"He lives like a drug dealer. When the artist spends excessively to the point where he doesn't actually have that money anymore, out of desperation he says whatever he can say to try and fix situations.

"No, I never took a royalty check to recoup for anything. Yeah, he had tax trouble. I helped him like I helped everybody else.
"With Buck there was points where it was up to $330,000 that I had loaned out to him (and) he continued to spend the way that he would regularly spend".

SHOCK! 50 Cent evicts his 10-year-old son

Rapper wins battle to throw ex and son out of his New York mansion

50 Cent has won a court case to evict his ex Shaniqua Tompkins and their 10-year-old son Marquise, his Manhattan attorney Brett Kimmel has confirmed.

A New York judge ruled that the pair must leave his £750k Long Island home by 30 April.

'I haven't [had anything to do] with her since 2003,' the rapper told a US radio station. 'She hasn't had a job. I was giving her $500,000 a year.'

But Shaniqua has filed a suit to appeal the move, citing 'breach of contract'.

She claims 50 Cent went back on his promise to put the 6-bedroom house in her name and instead used his real name — Curtis Jackson – on papers.

'I think it's preposterous to view your son as a trespasser,' Shaniqua's lawyer Paul Catsandonis tells Newsday.
