Mary-Kate Olsen unveils a dramatic new look

She's the child star who's grown up in public, so every image change is a big deal.

Mary-Kate Olsen transformed into a grungy teen from the schmaltzy child star in the Full House show that made her famous - and now she's moving into adulthood.

The actress twin, now 21, unveiled an edgy new look at the Metropolitan Opera's gala in New York last night.

Seemingly inspired by an early Madonna and Courtney Love, she worked tousled blonde curls, bold red lips and smoky eyes as she arrived for the event.

The experimental look has already won praise from fashion quarters, with Elle magazine noting they 'love it', adding it was 'much more grown-up and polished - but not too groomed.'
Mary-Kate led a host of stars at the Yves Saint Laurent sponsored event, including supermodel Claudia Schiffer, Ugly Betty star Becki Newton, actresses Claire Danes and Diane Kruger along with singer Kanye West.

The event honored the company's 125-year history, previewed its current stars in upcoming roles, and found time to pay tribute to Placido Domingo's 40 years at the house.

Her twin sister Ashley sat out the evening and Mary-Kate was instead accompanied by a male companion.

The Olsens, who built a billion dollar merchandise empire based on their hit TV shows, such as Full House and Two Of A Kind in the Nineties, are now fixtures on the fashion scene.

They now have their own fashion lines and are widely considered style icons in their own right.

The duo's latest collection of their casual clothing line, Elizabeth & James, hit London's Selfridges late last year.

The first collection launched in the UK in March 2008 and was a huge success. The pair have also signed a deal to create a line of shoes, too.

Their line The Row is stocked in well-respected stores globally, and causes even the most cynical of fashion editors to foam at the mouth.

It went on sale in Harvey Nichols three years ago and is now a staple for the store, not just among young fans but sophisticated women, too.

When it comes to fashion Mary-Kate, who battled anorexia as a teen, prefers create trends rather than follow them.

She says: 'I can't stand looking like everybody else.'

Lindsay Lohan wants baby

HOLLYWOOD lesbian LINDSAY LOHAN is hoping to raise a baby with girlfriend SAM RONSON, I can exclusively reveal.

I hear the Mean Girls star will ask one of her ex- boyfriends to provide the necessary, erm, male input.

Last month, I revealed how Lindsay and Sam were planning to “wed”. Later this year they want to publicly come out and declare their love for each other in a lavish LA bash. Having a child seems like a natural next step for the duo, who admit they are “smitten”.

A source close to the couple told me: “Lindsay is in a very happy place at the moment. She’s been having deep discussions about a baby.

“She wants a natural birth and has spoken to Sam about getting one of her ex-boyfriends to help out. They don’t want to adopt.”

Lindsay, pictured above in her new movie Labor Pains, was in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction and hopes that having a child will help her recovery.

As for potential fathers, Li-Lo is spoilt for choice. She’s dated a string of hot blokes, including JARED LETO, CALUM BEST and JUDE LAW.

Pictured: Jennifer Aniston back on television as a crazed stalker

She's usually a picture of complete composure, but Jennifer Aniston really let loose in New York while filming a guest spot on US comedy 30 Rock yesterday.

The 39-year-old - who split from boyfriend John Mayer last month - is playing a Fatal Attraction style stalker on the hit comedy.

At one point the actress made quite a scene on set, tackling one of her male co-stars with gusto.

She's already won over the show's star and executive producer, Tina Fey, who said: 'Jennifer is not only incredibly lovely to have around, she also has what the young people would call 'mad skills.'

Aniston, who rose to fame as Rachel on Friends, will play Fey's room mate Claire Harper in the episode.

Free-spirited Harper shows up in New York and rapidly attaches herself to Alec Baldwin's character Jack Donaghy.

The announcement that Aniston would be returning to NBC was made last week, by NBC Entertainment's executive vice president Teri Weinberg.

'She is the perfect comedic talent to work with the Emmy-winning 30 Rock cast.

'This promises to be a memorable, hilarious night of comedy.'

Aniston's last primetime TV acting role was on best friend Courteney Cox's series Dirt.

The real-life friends shared a kiss when Aniston guest-starred on the show last year.

30 Rock, which has won Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards, returns to US TV screens on October 30.

Victoria Beckham did her best to look heavenly as she arrived at Manchester's Harvey Nichols in Manchester today to launch her new perfume.

The former Spice Girls was dressed in all white and from the front, appeared to be wearing a pair of angel wings.

As Posh turned on her heels, she revealed the back of her dress was curiously covered in fur.

But the angelic-looking star is not always so squeaky clean.

A night earlier she was in dire need of a cotton bud as she headed off for dinner at Ithaca restaurant.

Not even her giant princess cut diamond stud earrings were enough to distract onlookers from the unsightly grime caught in her ears.

The 34-year-old looked otherwise stylish in a fashion-forward full length satin catsuit which showed off her slim figure.

She was treating her management team and perfume consultants to a night out.

They arrived at the top restaurant at around 9pm and as soon as they sat down they ordered four £650 bottles of the Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs were ordered right away as soon as they sat down.

Later a further eight bottles of the vintage champagne were ordered during the evening.

The party dined off the five star menu of Japanese cuisine from dishes that include Chilean Sea Bass, Wagyu Beef and soft shell crab.

Posh opted for tuna sashimi and edame beans for her starter, and char-grilled Jumbo Madagascan Prawns for her main course.

After the meal the whole group went upstairs to one of the bars for some of the superb cocktails.

But Victoria stayed on the champagne and they stayed till around midnight. The bill at the end of the evening came to just over £10,000.


The mother-of-three had earlier said she was looking forward to being back in the city.

'It was meant to be in London but I said no,' Victoria told the Manchester Evening News.

'I said please can I go to Manchester instead? I love Manchester, it's got a really good feel to it.

'So I thought why not - I usually spend a lot of time in London.

'I'm really excited about coming back because, of course, it's where I met David.'

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are finally set to record a duet.The 'Toxic' singer and her ex-boyfriend, who have been the subject of rumours they will record a song together for months, are to reportedly team up for a track on Britney's new album, due to be released later this year.
The pair were supposed to collaborate on a track for Britney's last LP 'Blackout' but she missed the recording session scheduled at producer Timbaland's studio.

At the time, a source claimed Britney "just didn't show up".

Britney's father Jamie - who is currently acting as co-conservator of her estate - is said to be keen for one time sweethearts to reunite.

Earlier this year, it was reported Jamie had asked Justin to perform with Britney, but the 'SexyBack' singer had refused.

At the time, a source said: "Jamie wanted Justin to help Britney. For a time Justin seriously considered doing a couple of concerts with her to help her out."
As well as a duet with Justin, Britney's next album is set to include a song she has written about her sons - Sean Preston, two, and 23-month-old Jayden James.

The troubled star revealed: "I've written a song for my next LP about them called 'My Baby'. It's a beautiful song, I'm really proud of it."

Love engraved with twin tattoos

The couple - who reportedly started dating late last year - showed off black love hearts on their left hands as they arrived back in Los Angeles after spending time with Samantha's family in Miami.

Lindsay, who had a white heart inked on her hand - between her thumb and index finger - in 2006, had it outlined in black, while Samantha had an identical symbol etched onto her hand.

The Mean Girls actress also had a red star inked on her right hand, to match the red stars Samantha has tattooed on her right arm.

Before going to Miami, the couple had been to the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, where Samantha DJed.

They were "very affectionate" and "very much in love", according to onlookers.

Lindsay and Samantha have always shared an interest in body art.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are reported to be discussing a split as their seven-year marriage hits rock bottom.

The relationship between the pop star and her film-maker husband has apparently been strained for months and the pair are believed to be living separate lives in their £6million mansion in London.

A close friend of the couple claimed in the Daily Mirror newspaper that a split was virtually inevitable.

The source said: 'They're obviously sad but they're dealing with it like grown-ups. Things have just run their natural course.'

The paper reports that the couple will formally announce the split when Madonna's world tour ends on November 29.

The 49-year-old singer is now said to be setting her sights on a fresh start and plans to spend time moving between her plush properties in London, New York and Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Ritchie, 39, is currently working on a new, updated film version of Sherlock Holmes.

'They live like brother and sister rather than husband and wife and thought it best to call it a day', a source told the newspaper.

They have just grown apart. They've decided they're better off as friends. It's sad but they're determined to keep it amicable.'

Guy was pictured a fortnight ago on a night out with male friends and sources said he and his wife were planning to spend most of the summer apart.

The couple got together after they met at a party thrown by the singer Sting in 1998. They married in a castle in Scotland two years later.

Rather than hide their marital problems, Madonna told a documentary for MTV in 2005 that she 'wanted to end everything'.

'My husband didn't turn out to be everything I imagined him to be', the star said.

Problems first surfaced when Ritchie allegedly disagreed with the decision to adopt baby David Banda from Malawi.

And relations clearly didn't improve, with the singer recently telling an interview: 'Guy can be intolerant of my behaviour.

50 Cent: 'I Tape All My Calls With Idiots'.... Rapper 50 Cent has taken steps to prove the authenticity of a taped telephone conversation between himself and former G-Unit bandmate Young Buck - by broadcasting the whole recording on his website.

Earlier this week (16Jun08) the In Da Club hitmaker released a new track - entitled The Taped Conversation - featuring Buck grovelling to the rapper, seemingly begging him to be allowed back in to the hip-hop group after he was kicked out in April (08) following a dispute over song royalties.

Buck - real name David Darnell Brown - has subsequently criticised his former bandmate, insisting the taped conversation was doctored - with Brown's manager Blue Williams branding 50 Cent "an obviously scorned and angry man".

Now, 50 Cent is aiming to disprove Brown's claims the conversation was heavily edited, by making the recording available in its entirety on his site ThisIs50.com.

And the star has further blasted his former music partner, telling New York radio station Hot 97 on Thursday (19Jun08) he always tapes his conversations - especially if the people on the other end of the phone are "idiots".

He says, "A lot of times people don't see what the other person is doing.

They don't understand the cause and effect. They don't see the other person; they just pay attention to me".

When asked if he tapes all his phone conversations, the star replied, "With idiots, yeah! So if they saying something crazy, it's right there".

50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - also said his friendship with Brown is beyond repair, unless the rapper is open to seeking professional help for his alleged impulsive spending and drug habits.

He adds, "He needs to go to a program and get some real help. Then maybe we can talk to each other".

Reunited: Pamela Anderson moves back in with Tommy Lee ten years after divorce

Former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson is back together with her ex-husband Tommy Lee, the rocker has confirmed.

The 40-year-old, who is currently on a promotional visit in London, has moved back in with the Motley Crue drummer ten years after divorcing him.

Rumours were rife that the pair - costars in a now infamous home sex-tape - were back together after they were regularly spotted spending time together.

Lee finally confirmed the speculation in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

'Pamela and the kids have moved in with me,' he said. 'It's awesome man. It's definitely working.

'You can tell on the kids' faces - they're happy when we're together.'

Anderson and Lee wed in February 1995, after knowing one another for just 96 hours, and went onto have two sons, Brandon and Dylan.

She filed for divorce twice and reconciled with the rocker twice before they split for good in 1998.

That same year Lee was sentenced to six months in jail for spousal abuse and it also later emerged that Anderson had contracted the Hepatitis C virus from him.

The actress's love life has continued to make headlines with brief engagements to model Marcus Schenkenberg and singer Kid Rock.

Anderson eventually married Kid Rock in July 2006, but they split just four months later.

She then wed Paris Hilton's ex Rick Salomon in September last year, but that marriage lasted only five months.

Over the last few months Anderson and Lee have been photographed visiting each other's houses, shopping together and watching their sons play sport.

The drummer said the relationship seemed to be working this time around.

'We've only given it a try 800 times,' he laughed. '801 here we go.'

Naomi Campbell is expected to be charged over an alleged air rage incident at Heathrow.

The supermodel, 38, was removed from a flight to LA in handcuffs on 3 April after allegedly spitting at a police officer and trying to punch and kick others.

She was reportedly angered by the news that one of her bags had been lost amid the luggage fiasco at Terminal 5.

Following the scandal over her highly criticized risqué photo shoot for Vanity Fair, Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus did some damage control by posing for wholesome pictures at Disney World in Orlando, Fla., on May 1. But the 15-year-old Hannah Montana star may also want to rethink her friends, a report from Life & Style Weekly suggests in this week's magazine.

A report notes that right before the Vanity Fair photo shoot, Miley spent time with Lindsay Lohan, 21, a veteran of rehab and her own racy photos scandals. "At the shoot, Miley was talking to her mom and friends about hanging out with Lindsay," an insider told the magazine, noting that Miley's mother, Leticia (Tish), was not happy to hear the news that she was out with Lilo.

Miley even discusses Lindsay in the Vanity Fair article. When asked if people around her worry that she'll follow in Lindsay's or Britney Spears' footsteps, Miley says, "They're being normal [for their ages], especially Lindsay." She said she talks to both from time to time: "I know those people, and I know they have good hearts and they're struggling."

And now Miley is embroiled in her own celebrity photos scandal. "The last person Miley needs in her life right now," says the insider, "is Lindsay Lohan!"
