Have bunions got the better of Victoria Beckham? Posh swaps high heels for ballet flats

She once said of ballerina flats: 'Unless they're on a ballet dancer doing ballet, I just don't get it.'

But it seems Victoria Beckham has finally given in, as the years spent wearing her trademark skyscraper heels take their painful toll.

Ignoring her own fashion rule, Beckham stepped out today in a pair of classy-yet-comfortable black ballet flats.

It comes after she was spotted wearing trainers last week, perhaps in a sign that her bunions have got the better of her.

Whether she's shopping, attending a school fete or about to board a plane, up until now there was no event that the mother-of three didn't deem worthy of a pair of towering heels.

She wore Louboutin heels when she visited Universal Studios theme park with her sons and a pair of heel-less, Antonio Berardi PVC boots at the designer's show in Paris.

But today was a stark contrast.

Beckham donned the ballerina flats for her flight into London's Heathrow airport today.

She teamed the practical shoes with an understated navy blue shift dress and one of her many Hermes Birkin bags.

Her bunions have become so bad that she is said to be facing surgery to remove them.

Friends said recently she was in such agony that she was having to put ice on her feet and do daily exercises in a desperate bid to avoid having the bunionectomy operations advised by her doctors.

Beckham is believed to wear corrective insoles in some shoes.
The pin-thin star, whose high-end fashion range counts supermodel Elle Macpherson among its fans, loves shoes by designers such as Christian Louboutin, which cost from £500.

She swore she would never wear ballet flats as she 'beyond hated them.'

To combat her agony Beckham, 35, has been doing exercises, such as standing on a step and lowering her weight onto one leg, and lying on her back to stretch her legs.

If she has the surgery, she could face at least two months out of high heels.

She has complained in the past of 'looking really awful naked', yet it seems Victoria Beckham can't resist peeling off when it comes to Armani photo shoots.

Reclining backwards onto a bed wearing nothing but skimpy underwear, black stilettos and her trademark pout, this is the ex-Spice Girl's latest lingerie ad for the fashion giant.

In these new pictures, the mother-of-three shows off a considerably more curvy figure than she is usually known for.

Her provocative pose, assisted by some clever lighting, shows her toned legs and stomach and rounded bottom as she stretches backwards.
The flattering shadows in the photo reveal a body most women would envy.

It's not the first time Posh has peeled off her clothes for Armani - in the past she has joined her semi-naked husband David to advertise the lingerie.

It is thought to be part of a lucrative deal worth an estimated £32 million in total.

The couple, who are parents to Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and Cruz, three, are promoting underwear from the spring/summer collection for the Italian label.

The image is part of a series of shots, largely featuring a solo Victoria, taken by celebrated fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

David, 33, first signed a £20 million deal to become the new global ambassador of the fashion house in 2007.

His 34-year-old wife followed suit with her own £12 million three-year deal late last year, with Italian designer Giorgio Armani praising her as an 'intriguing woman'.

In the past, Mrs Beckham has claimed she 'looks really awful naked', complaining of 'saggy skin' on her stomach following three pregnancies.

The singer-turned-designer had been enjoying a dinner date with her husband David and several friends at La Risacca restaurant in Milan on Monday night.The pair were celebrating after David signed a deal to stay with Italian team AC Milan. It is believed that he has paid £2million from his own pocket to remain on loan from his American club LA Galaxy.He will now return to the US in the summer where Victoria is set to stay with their three children Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six and Cruz, four, who are all at school in Los Angeles.She will make regular visits to Italy to support her husband who is desperate to re-establish himself in the England team.
In recent months Mrs Beckham, 34, has been back and forth between the two countries as well as fitting in fleeting visits to London and New York as she pursues her career as a fashion designer.
Last month revealed that the star racked up almost 26,000 air miles flying around the world in the first six weeks of the year.

She may be dressed as an angel but Victoria Beckham forgets to clean her ears

Victoria Beckham did her best to look heavenly as she arrived at Manchester's Harvey Nichols in Manchester today to launch her new perfume.

The former Spice Girls was dressed in all white and from the front, appeared to be wearing a pair of angel wings.

As Posh turned on her heels, she revealed the back of her dress was curiously covered in fur.

But the angelic-looking star is not always so squeaky clean.

A night earlier she was in dire need of a cotton bud as she headed off for dinner at Ithaca restaurant.

Not even her giant princess cut diamond stud earrings were enough to distract onlookers from the unsightly grime caught in her ears.

The 34-year-old looked otherwise stylish in a fashion-forward full length satin catsuit which showed off her slim figure.

She was treating her management team and perfume consultants to a night out.

They arrived at the top restaurant at around 9pm and as soon as they sat down they ordered four £650 bottles of the Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs were ordered right away as soon as they sat down.

Later a further eight bottles of the vintage champagne were ordered during the evening.

The party dined off the five star menu of Japanese cuisine from dishes that include Chilean Sea Bass, Wagyu Beef and soft shell crab.

Posh opted for tuna sashimi and edame beans for her starter, and char-grilled Jumbo Madagascan Prawns for her main course.

After the meal the whole group went upstairs to one of the bars for some of the superb cocktails.

But Victoria stayed on the champagne and they stayed till around midnight. The bill at the end of the evening came to just over £10,000.


The mother-of-three had earlier said she was looking forward to being back in the city.

'It was meant to be in London but I said no,' Victoria told the Manchester Evening News.

'I said please can I go to Manchester instead? I love Manchester, it's got a really good feel to it.

'So I thought why not - I usually spend a lot of time in London.

'I'm really excited about coming back because, of course, it's where I met David.'

Victoria Beckham Won't Star In High School Musical.

Victoria Beckham's representatives have laughed off rumours she is set to star in High School Musical 3: Senior Year - despite the film's star Zac Efron urging movie bosses to sign her up.The former Spice Girl and fashion icon had allegedly been slated to play a sexy English teacher in the latest outing of the hit Disney franchise.
And speculation heightened after the lead hunk Efron gave the Brit his backing to land a role in the film, saying, "She (Victoria) is hot, funny - and let's not forget her success with The Spice Girls".

However, the move has been dismissed by Beckham's spokesperson, who insists the star has not been offered a role in the film.

The representative says, "She has not been approached, but the Beckham boys are big fans of High School Musical".

Beckham isn't a newcomer to cameo acting roles - she appeared in an episode of hit U.S. show Ugly Betty, playing a diva bridesmaid.
