Is Jessica Simpson jealous of her sister Ashlee Simpson? Or is there a strong sibling rivalry brewing? According to a report from OK! Magazine sources are saying that something is happening with the buxom sisters even though they have a reputation for being the closest sisters in showbiz.The weekly entertainment magazine reports this week that during a recent visit to New York City they were barely seen together, and friends wondered if the Simpsons were experiencing a rift. On Sept. 5, Ashlee, 22, cuddled with boyfriend Pete Wentz at the Rock & Republic Fashion Rocks pre-party while Jess, 27, stayed at the W magazine bash. OK! also reports that they separately walked the red carpet at Roberto Cavalli's store on Sept. 7, briefly catching up later that night at celeb hot spot The Waverly Inn. "Jess was always thought of as the prize-winner in the family," a longtime Texas pal tells Ok. "Now Ash is just as pretty and has a better career than her sister." Another friend tells OK, "It's no coincidence. Ashlee is busy recording an album and Jessica has no interest in seeing her." Cue the rep™: Jess' rep denies there's a rift: "That's ridiculous. I, myself, had dinner with them both together two nights in a row." She adds, "This is nonsense."
