Sharing more than a Pitt

Till now, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie had nothing in common except for a certain Mr Brad Pitt. But things have changed. Both the actresses, who make up the past and the present of Pitt’s love life, have been awarded the shared title of ‘Most Powerful Actress’ in the Guinness World Records book.Jolie, who has four children with Pitt, has got a lot of media attention due to her relationship with the Babel actor. She has also been suggested as a possible Oscar nominee for her performance in the movie A Mighty Heart.Aniston has also hit headlines over her rocky love life and was given the joint title in the 2008 book after researchers assessed the earnings and publicity of actresses during the past 12 months.Aniston married Pitt on July 29, 2000, in Malibu. The Pitts announced their separation on January 7, 2005. In the breakdown of their marriage, Jolie was often painted as the ‘other woman’, largely due to her chemistry with Pitt during the filming of the movie Mr and Mrs Smith. While Jolie and Pitt both denied any claims of adultery, Aniston and Pitt officially filed for divorce on March 25, 2005. The divorce was finalised on October 2 in the same year.Other movie stars who have been named in the book include Tom Cruise, who has pushed Johnny Depp from the title of ‘Most Popular Actor’.Meanwhile, Snakes On A Plane star Samuel L. Jackson was named as the ‘Highest Grossing Actor’ after appearing in 75 films which have taken in nearly 4 billion worldwide.
