Nicole Richie's 'joke' Memorial Day email invitation has met with further criticism - this time from a healthy weight loss group. The Simple Life star poked fun at her alleged eating disorder in the invitation, which leaked last month (May07), warning there would be scales outside the party and wannabe attendees should start starving themselves immediately. But campaign group Thinspiration haven't seen the humorous side. In a MySpace posting they write, "If it was a joke, it wasn't funny. "Richie is a disgrace." Richie has come under fire from eating disorder groups and the media over the past year after her dramatic weight loss. But the American socialite always denied having bulimia or anorexia. In October 2006 it was announced that Richie was seeking treatment for "an inability to put on weight" and in March of this she after being taken to hospital for dehydration it was announced that she was suffering from hypoglycemia, a pathologic state produced by a lower than normal amount of sugar in the blood. More recently it has been reported that the star is pregnant and is said to be going on a special diet for the sake of her unborn chid. However, like her pal Paris Hilton, she is facing a possible jail sentence after she was arrested for driving under the influence last December.
