Naomi Campbell's career boost

Naomi Campbell has joked hitting her maid and mopping floors boosted her career, it has been claimed. The supermodel - who was sentenced to clean New York's Sanitation Department in March this year after being found guilty of throwing a phone at her housekeeper - allegedly believes her bad behaviour secured her the W magazine front cover for the first time in her career. New York Daily News newspaper reports she was overheard telling a group of friends: "All I had to do was scrub some floors and hit my maid!" W magazine has also featured Naomi's diary during her five-day stint. In one extract, the 36-year-old revealed she was terrified the community service would ruin her looks. She wrote: "I start to feel the wear and tear of the week. I see bags under my eyes. I think, 'Oh my god. I need a good night's sleep.' " The beauty also admitted she was shocked to discover many of her community service co-workers had never left the US. She said: "Two of the people in the room have never been on a plane. They ask me what it's like and I'm embarrassed to tell them I was on seven planes the week before alone."
