Pop star Britney Spears tried to commit suicide inside the Promises rehabilitation centre, where she has been admitted for treatment, on Saturday, the web site Earthtimes reported. The singer wanted to hang herself making a “rope” of her sheets, but was saved by the clinic’s staff. Before attempting to kill herself, Britney apparently wrote the number 666 on her shaved head and started yelling, “I am the Antichrist!” This incident came soon after Britney’s first husband Jason Alexander expressed fears that she would end up like the late Anna Nicole Smith. He said, “It freaked me out when I saw she had shaved off her hair — that was clearly a cry for help. The pictures have become increasingly disturbing. I have never said anything about Britney and drugs before, but I am very, very concerned about her. I am really worried that she will wind up like Anna Nicole Smith and be found dead.” Doctors think the star’s strange behaviour is due to postpartum depression, after the birth of her second child. Since her divorce, she has shaved her head bald, had her lips inked on her wrist and run away from Promises several times. She also made a list of people, who she wishes to be dead. It includes her ex-husband’s name too. After divorcing rapper Kevin Federline, Britney threatened to kill herself if their children were placed under his guardianship. Federline, however, visited her at the rehab centre and promised he would reconsider their relationship if she mended her ways.
